Hobbies!!!

So... I thought I would post some pictures of some of our favourite pasttimes so you can get to know us a bit better. Hannah has quite a few and they change almost daily but here are some recent ones...

She likes messing up anything that has any semblance of order. She also loves putting anything in her mouth that will fit -- and its amazing how much actually does fit in that little mouth!!

When I asked Jason what he would say his hobbies are he said basketball (he plays every Monday night at the church) and doing projects around the house. I have no pictures of basketball but below is a picture of the work bench he just finished in the garage and you can see the great job he did on the room in the basement on a previous post called "Finally done". I would add that he loves playing with his daughter too!!
As for me... well... I jog, although I am not sure that I would call it a hobby since I do it more for exercise than enjoyment. Below is a picture of me crossing the finish line at the Spring Ahead race in Mission April 2nd. I finished 8th out of 13 in my age category and 53 out of 133 over all in the 5k. My sister-in-law got second in her age category!
As for my real hobbies, I would have to say watching movies and scrapbooking but I don't think you really need to see pictures of me doing those. Of course my all time favourite thing to do is to spend as much time as possible with my husband and daughter. So now you may know us a bit better than you did before. Leave us a comment and tell us a bit about yourself and what you like to do.

Uncle Jeff's House

On the weekend we went to my brother's place on the island. Ferry troubles aside it was a good weekend. Hannah doesn't see Uncle Jeff much so she had to get reaquainted with him. Fortunately she doesn't play shy with most people so it didn't take long before they had some fun together. (Hannah seems to enjoy her paparazzi and hammed it up for Uncle Jeff and his camera.) We visited his store and Hannah wasted no time picking out her favourite bike -- a little pink one with a basket on the front, flowers all over it and training wheels on the back. I know what to get her for Christmas a few years from now!

A note to anyone thinking of taking the ferry during the summer months: Make reservations!!!! Especially if you have an 11 month old. It is definitely worth the fifteen dollars. We missed the ferry on the way over because of an accident on the Lions gate and had to wait one sailing. On the way back there was so much traffic we had to wait four hours for the ferry! Ugh! At least the weather was nice and Hannah was very cooperative. We got sore feet from walking her around and we were all tired and a bit stressed by the time we got on the 8:50 sailing. We found the front seat of the car to be a good source of distraction for a while (and a cute photo op). She finally fell asleep in the car on the way home and we got home around midnight. All in all it was a good trip though. Hannah slept amazingly well in the playpen which is an answer to prayer since she has hated it up til now and this was a bit of trial run for camping later this summer. We played Settlers, the cities and knights version and liked it so much we stopped and bought it there before heading home.

Hannah and Daddy on the ferry ride over to the island. She likes "beeping" Jason's nose.

Hannah was a bit alarmed when she noticed the student driver sign on the captain's window!!

Blogger is having some troubles posting the rest of the pictures so I will have to try again later.

Here's some more pics... Hannah loved the car!

First Father's Day

Hannah and Jason's first Father's Day together was a blast and Hannah took ten steps that day as a gift for her Daddy. (She also got him a picture frame with pictures of his family for his office.)

Fun With Food

Our Little Starfish

Hannah just started swimming lessons. She is in the "starfish" level. She goes every Tuesday and Thursday for four weeks. Her little friend Dahlia is in her class as well.

This past Tuesday was Daddy's turn.

Finally Done

So the basement repairs are finally done.
Here is a picture of the result:

Flower Girls

A couple of weeks ago, Hannah and her cousin Alexandra were honourary flower girls at her Uncle Tim and Auntie Wendy's wedding. I think they were very cute. What do you think?
