Quote of the day

This morning when Jason was getting Hannah out of bed, they were having some fun and he tickled her. She laughed and said "Daddy silly -- on purpose!"

Six Weeks!

Six weeks... That's how old little Kiera is already, that's how long we've been working on selling our house, that's how long it's been since I slept through the night (actually a lot longer than that since I didn't sleep much the last few months of pregnancy), and it's almost how long it has taken me to find time to do more posts on my blog! So here is a little update. The deal we had going on our house fell through so we are starting again with showings and trying to keep the house clean. Ugh! We put an offer on a townhouse but that fell through today because our house didn't sell. We feel fine about this though. We figure it was God's way of telling us to wait for another, better place.

We have had some good times enjoying the summer. First was the Canada Day parade, then the sprinkle.. more about that below... and then birthdays galore. We celebrated Mom W's, Matthew's and Hannah's, then we celebrated Dad G's and next we will have another little party for Hannah. As well we had a get together with my side of the family because my cousin and her three kids came up from Georgia for the first time in three years. It was so great to see her again, even though the visit was short. The kids got to know one another quickly and had a blast, especially Hannah and Madison, who is seven and Hannah's newest hero. We forgot our camera so we will have to get pictures from someone else of that event. Here are pictures of some of the other events this summer, starting with the parade and some random summer fun.

Sprinkle

My two incredible sisters-in-law threw a "sprinkle" for me. That's a smaller version of a baby shower. They invited all my mothers, grandmothers and sisters (and a couple aunts for good measure!) There were ten of us in total, plus Kiera, the star of the show. How blessed I am to have these women in my family. They shared words of wisdom and encouragement with me, we had good food and some gifts for Kiera. Wendy made two fabulous cakes, one made out of diapers and gifts from her and Mandy, and the other out of the usual cake ingredients. Thank you everyone for the gifts, the special words for Kiera and me and for good time! Here are a few pictures. Unfortunately a couple of people managed to avoid getting into my pictures -- Aunt Magda and Mom W who was behind my camera most of the time. If anyone has a picture or two of that night could you send them to me?

July Birthdays

Last week we had a party in the park to celebrate the July birthdays - my mother-in-law's, my nephew's, and Hannah's (which is August 3rd, but close enough to July). It was lots of fun. We had a picnic with good food and a beautiful and delicious cake (thanks Mandy). Then we played in the park for a while. Hannah loves the swing and will go as high as Jason can push her. I can't watch. I am not a fan of the swings at the best of times.

Ode to Kiera

Here are a few of the latest pictures of Kiera:
